Going Places

Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty. Enjoy the beauty of becoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible.

I have been feeling it for awhile now – the sense of awakening. To quote from the book: “…recognising that I am connected to the energy of all creation, that I am a part of it – and it is always a part of me.”

It all starts with one word – Possibility. The possibility of pursuing your wildest dreams, the possibility of overcoming any obstacles life throws your way, the possibility of living that very moment you desire… oh, the possibilities are endless!

It continues when ‘Change’ is added to the equation. Every choice you make produces a consequence. Some good, some not. What matters is how you make of it. You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge. You can’t change when you don’t have the courage. As Mark Twain says, “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Three years ago, I didn’t know a thing about crochet. I have always been interested in it, but buying a finished product and making it yourself are two entirely different things.

I remembered the time when I told others about my decision to teach myself to crochet and to start my own brand. It felt as if my whole world was telling me who I cannot become and what I cannot do. I faced many challenges.

For starters, I didn’t even know which brand of hook or type of yarn to go for. Then came the challenge of not knowing how to crochet – the way to hold the hook, to read patterns, to make different stitches, etc. And when I thought I have crossed the difficult hurdles, I had the business side of things to learn – managing my various social media accounts, setting up an online shop, and running a blog (this blog). Whatever the case, I am glad I took the first step and never looked back.

What I know for sure is this: Appreciate how far you have come. You may not have arrived at where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. Let each day be a day one for you to make small changes to the path you are on. Celebrate every tiny victory, learn from every setback, and just keep moving. One (regular) day or day one, you decide.
