He pointed out that almost getting it out isn’t the same as having it, and that life is full of things that might or might not happen. The deciding factor is whether she’ll give up on the octopus and let it stay in there forever.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 3mm crochet hook
- 8-ply yarn in pink, white and black
- White, and black felt (optional)
- 9mm safety eyes
- Craft glue (optional)
- Glass beads/stones (for a weighted feel)
- Polyester stuffing
- Scissors and yarn needle

Head
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: inc around
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) around
Rnd 4: (2sc, inc) around
Rnd 5: (3sc, inc) around
Rnd 6: (4sc, inc) around
Rnd 7-14: sc around [Note: insert the eyes between rnd 11 and 12, about 6st apart.]
Rnd 15: (4sc, dec) around
Rnd 16: (3sc, dec) around
Rnd 17: (2sc, dec) around, and stuff
Rnd 18: (sc, dec) around, and stuff
FO, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Mouth (optional – can be replaced with felts)
Part 1 – White
Rnd 1: 5sc in MR
Rnd 2: inc around
FO, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Part 2 – Black
Rnd 1: 4sc in MR
FO, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Body
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: inc around
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) around
Rnd 4: (2sc, inc) around
Rnd 5-7: sc around
Rnd 8: (2sc, dec) around
Rnd 9: (sc, dec) around
Rnd 10: dec, sc across, dec, and stuff lightly [Note: add the beads for a weighted feel]
FO, and weave in ends.
Tentacles (make six)
Rnd 1: 5sc in MR
Rnd 2: (sc, inc) around
Rnd 3-4: sc around
Rnd 5: (2sc, inc) around, sc
FO, and leave a long tail for sewing.
Assembly
Sew all crochet parts together. [Note: ladder stitch rnd 7 of the body to the head as well so that the body appears ‘flatter’. See picture.]
Weave in all ends.
